How to play
Those next instructions are available ingame as tutorials.
Welcome to graves and grass.
This is a game about managing a graveyard, take care of the dead, make them satisfied. You're a small grave keeper, and your role is to build graves. Those grave will welcome people, dead people, who will have needs.
Build those graves.
Welcome people in.
Look at their needs, and build what they want to be happy.
To build something in your graveyard, you'll need to go to your build table. Once you selected it, you'll access your building menu where, you'll have the possibility to build graves, decorations, water features, plant trees and flowers, and more!
Each day, at 10:30am, bodies to be buried are delivered. They will cumulate so please take care of everyone!
You can select them at the entrance and carry them to their empty grave. Each person will have needs to satisfy, because dead people deserve to be happy too!
So don't forget to not only decorate their grave accordingly, but also to decorate the graveyard to accommodate their needs.
Cut the dead grass.
Water the plants.
Welcome you new residents.
And take care of the dead.

About that game
This game has been developed on and off from April 2024 to March 2025 (3 months of development on my free time over almost a year) as a proof of concept for an original idea by a friend of mine (Mahaut). With time it turned into an experiment to develop my own unity tools (from pooling to placing system, from UI management to time management and save systems) and the project it took a life of its own and I felt like it could be a complete game experience, enjoyable beyond just being my usual ugly prototypes.
Mahaut has potentially big plans for the concept in the future, as I am personally gonna focus on other projects, but I still wanted to release a full, hopefully enjoyable experience and gameplay loop.
Future updates
The project will probably not get any update in the foreseeable future, although if some things are really broken to the point of making things unplayable, I may come back to fix the game and do some clean up.
Also I may add some new lots at some point but nothing is sure, really, at some point I want to move on.
Known bugs
- The Linux and MacOS build have been made through an automated system and I don't really know if they work correctly. If it's not the case please let me know so I can remove them.
- Sometime, the "Build two graves" tutorial quest comes back for no reason. I don't know what I did there, I tried to do things so cleverly they ended up not working. Daily tasks are optional anyway so, just ignore it.
- Ultra-wide resolution doesn't work well with the UIs of the game AT ALL, I would recommend to limit yourself to 16:9/16:10 resolutions.
Price
If you liked this game, and/or if you want to see more games like this, or maybe some improvements or new content in this one (mostly lots, I still have a lot of Synty studio asset packs ready to be exploited), please give some money to support the project long term.
